Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Claims Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the second round.
Police Reports Currently Not on File
No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
